Overheard in Laguna Beach
20-something hipster girl with designer sunglasses, to her boyfriend, over tacos at lunch: "I mean, the show makes it look like it is SO much fun to live here..."
boyfriend: "Yeah, and it's totally not."
hipster girl: "I mean, like, all there is to do here is, like, go to theaters, go to shows, eat out at different restaurants, walk on the beach or sunbathe, and, like, go shopping."
boyfriend: "And hiking. But besides that, there is nothing to do here. SOOO boring."
Word for word. I swear. I had to control myself from laughing.

I think one lesson here is:
Privilege = ignorance
Well said, Adriana! I wonder how bored they would be in Sitka, Alaska (where I live). There is nothing to do here, only enjoy nature, hike, bike, fish, take photos, raise your family, work hard, play hard, basically enjoy life...pretty BORING actually :) I guess it's all really about perspective.
